Spring is scheduled for March 20th!!! Each day is a little warmer and daylight longer, especially with Daylight Savings on March 9th. Oh, happy day! Sunshine and Fred Ermmentraut is back!!
And hooray for Happy St Patrick’s Day, on Monday, March 17th. We will all be celebrating and wearing of the Green on the Sunday Music Series, March 16th featuring the CYA Band, and corned beef and cabbage. Who’s your Paddy? Should be a very special Sunday down at the Grove. Release your inner Leprechaun and dance a jig.
Get ready to pack up your fly rods for our Fourth Annual Trout Fishing Extravaganza down in Rockbridge, Missouri at the Rockbridge Trout Ranch, on Monday, June 9th through Thursday, June 12th. We are inviting anyone to come down with us as we stock up on our hundred pounds of trout for our Smoked Trout Fest with Hot Damn Band third weekend of June. Relax at the prettiest little trout stream just one hour south of Rolla. Fantastic fishing with huge trout, but like shooting fish in a barrel. Make your reservations early at Rockbridge Trout Ranch, 1-417-679-3619 – Life in Missouri is good, but now it’s better. Of course, we will have some mighty fine country and western music to boot. Sunday Music Series –St. Patrick’s Day Corned Beef and Cabbage with the CYA Band - Sunday, March 16th, 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM Classic Rock and some Country
Gonna get all jiggy at the Grove, celebrating the Irish with CYA band. All the Colleens will be swinging their darlins’ round the dance floor, and living it up. $5.00 cover includes Corned Beef and Cabbage plate and all the blarney you can handle.
The Missouri Valley Boys - Shows – Saturday- March 8th, and Friday, March 28th- 8:30 PM to 12:30 AM ( Traditional country western, hillbilly and some Top 40)
Missouri Valley Boys have made Stovall’s Grove the “Home of country music since 1935” featuring Traditional Country Western and Hillbilly music. Musical talents of the Missouri Valley Boys showcase Allen Cully, on vocals and bass, Terry Miller on vocals and guitar, Donny Sloan on drums, Fred Williams, lead guitar and vocals, Mark Vaccaro on fiddle and Pat Heller on pedal steel guitar . Step back into genuine country music history with classic songs made famous by Ray Price, George Jones, Ernest Tubbs, Lefty Frizell, Merle Haggard, and Hank Williams. Ya’ll come.
Whiskey Morning Band- - Saturday, March 1st, 8:30 to 12:30 PM

Whiskey Morning is a country band with a classic country sound, killer harmonies and good, old -fashioned twang. Suzy Bacino, on guitar and vocals, Dave Hinson, guitar and vocals, Ross Bell, guitar, bass and vocals, Bob Briedenbach on pedal steel, (Scott Engel and Bob Lawder – may play, but unknown status as of this newsletter/listing) Former members from some of St. Louis’ top bands including, Ralph Butler, Fantasy, Smash Band, Twains, Fluid Drive, uniting to bounce the house with a fresh country sound.
The Grovers – Shows - Friday- March 7th- 8:30 PM to 12:30 AM
(Variety, some Top 40, and Traditional Country Music)
A fiddle in the house with a bounce. Gary Hunt leads the Grovers, on vocals, lead guitar, and fiddle, with Ron Meecey on pedal steel guitar, Bobbie Regot, on vocals and drums, and Wally McCanless on vocals and Bass. The Grovers’ smoke the saloon for the best country western line-dancing, two stepping and listening pleasure. A Stovall’s Favorite for years.
Nite Time Friends Band-– Shows – Friday, March 14th- 8:30 PM to 12:30 AM
(Variety, some Top 40, and Traditional Country Music)
Tim Brown gathers his friends for a bouncing evening of fun country music. Make plans to play and play hard with Tim Brown on bass and vocals, Mike Snodgrass on guitar and vocals, Jerry Moon on drums and vocals, and Ron Meecey on steel guitar. You’re gonna have to step out on the dance floor now.
Fred and the Rangers- Shows - Saturdays, March 15th and 29th - 8:30 to 12:30 PM
(Classic and Traditional Country western, Rockabilly, and some Top Forty)
Ooh, Baby, is this band hot! Fred and his band have been long time friends and musicians at Stovalls for 25 years! Fred and the Rangers have played Nashville and have many cds available with their fabulous country style. Fred Ermmentrout, leads the fast pace on vocals and lead guitar, with Wally McCanless, on Bass, Ron Mecey, on pedal steel, and Clay on drums. Whether you are from Texas, Oklahoma, Tennessee, or Missouri – a delightful evening of plenty.
Hillbilly Authority - Show -Friday, March 21st - 8:30 to 12:30 PM
(Traditional Country, New, Southern Rock, Variety, some Top 40)
With a repertoire consisting of everything from traditional to new country and from southern rock to original music, Hillbilly Authority delivers a high-energy stage show that appeals to music fans of all varieties. Greg Manis, vocals and guitar, Mike Hatfield, vocals and keyboards, Scottie Kemp, lead guitar, and vocals, Dan O’Neil, on drums, and Rick Steiling on Bass. A special treat for all.
Colonel Ford and the Rough Riders – Show – Saturday, March 22nd - 8:30-12:30 AM
(Hillbilly, Honky Tonk, and Traditional Country)
Honky Tonk music at its finest .Gary Hunt leads the band in that county western high lonesome sound. Gary Hunt, guitar, fiddle, and vocals, Dade Farrar, Standup bass, and vocals, Jay Farrar, pedal steel , Johnny Horton, guitar, and Dan Kathriner, drums and vocals. Mighty fine music and a great big howdy of country. Country music just doesn’t get any better than this.

It’s Back- ya’ll come! Razzle, Dazzle with your talent at the time honored tradition of open mike at Stovalls. Various musicians gather to share their musical guitar, bass, fiddle, accordion and vocals with much impromptu harmonies, voicings, and great fun. Play, sing, or just enjoy watching the shows. All welcome. Any style related to country. Must be twenty one.
Dance Lessons with Stephanie-Thursdays – March 6th, 13th, 20th and 27th- Starting at 7:00 P.M.
Very robust and bustling evening at the Grove. Crazy good fun. Stephanie, our instructor, gets the dancers moving with a new level of fun, stylish moves, and great dances. Learn the latest country western dances, meet nice people, and get fit. From classic country western line dances -the boot scoot boogie, Diamond reggae, Black Velvet, Trouble, Tush Push, Electric Slide, Slap Leather, Cruisin, to country western couples dances- Stationery Cha Cha, San Antonio Stroll, Ridin’ Double, L.A Two Step, Cotton Mouth, you can learn them all. Beginner to Advanced with or without partners. Time to get slapping, and scootin. $3.00 per person. Advanced dancers should inquire about the competition teams.
