Lots of Summer this month, where all your fishing, dancing, and partying dreams wait to come true, with float trips, sunning, camping, vacationing, boating, riding, swimming, baseball and cherry pie!

 

Stovall’s is a great place to get an old fashioned dose of summer: live country and western music, dancing, conversation, libation, barbecue and a campfire under the stars – everything great in America.

 

Our Sunday Music Series on August 23rd featuring the rock band , Oh Brother,  be sure to mark your calendars now- .  Please note later starting time of 5:00 to 9:00, doors will open at 4:00.

 

The best parties are at Stovalls, great music, convivial atmosphere and nice ice cold beer.    Whether 10 or 100, let us do the worry ( and the cleanup)  for your social planning- birthdays, family reunions, black parties, sports leagues, or even a quick and easy gathering of your best buddies. Grab some snacks, and gather round.

 

Private parties can be arranged on days and evenings: Sunday, thru Wednesday, and Saturday afternoons. Party Packages are available. Tell us your budget and we can plan the rest.

Sunday Barbecue and Music Series –Oh Brother-Show- Sunday,  August 23rd ,

  5:00 to 9:00 PM

( Classic rock form 60’s to 90’s, acoustic, singer songwriter.)

Oh Brother entertains with classic rock from the 60’s to 90’s with strong vocal harmonies, and acoustic instrumentation.  Pat Mason, on Lead vocals, John Carney, KTRS radio personality on drums and vocals, Joe Moenigmann, on guitar, bass and vocals, Jeff Moenighmann, on guitar, bass, banjo, mandolin, keyboard and vocals, Dan Elze ,(yup, a cousin), on bass, sax,  and vocals. Great barbecue and nice bouncing change of pace with classic rock while you chow on super delicious Stovalls barbecue.  $10.00 plate covers door and music.  Doors open at 4:00

 

 Missouri Valley Boys Road Trip: The Old Rock Church Picnic on Sunday, August 16th, 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM.  A Family favorite for years The Missouri Valley Boys  play the Rock Church picnic in Catawissa for St. Patrick’s Church -located just five minutes south of Pacific off Hwy 00 to NN to Rock church Road or Look for the green shamrock signs for directions-  An old fashioned picnic with fabulous fried chicken dinners!! Bring the kids for games, dancing and a darn good time.

Missouri Valley Boys have made Stovall’s Grove the “Home of country music since 1935” featuring Traditional Country Western and Hillbilly music.  Musical talents of the Missouri Valley Boys showcase  Allen Cully, on vocals and bass, Terry Miller on vocals and guitar, Donny Sloan on drums,  Fred Williams, lead guitar and vocals, Mark Vaccaro on fiddle and Dave Alley on pedal steel guitar . Step back into genuine country music history with classic songs made famous by Ray Price, George Jones, Ernest Tubbs, Lefty Frizell, Merle Haggard, and Hank Williams.   Ya’ll come.

 

Hillbilly Authority - Show - Friday, August 7th- 8:30 PM to 12:30 AM

(Traditional Country, New, Southern Rock, Variety, some Top 40)

With a repertoire consisting of everything from traditional to new country and from southern rock to original music, Hillbilly Authority delivers a high-energy stage show that appeals to music fans of all varieties. Greg Manis, vocals and  guitar,  Mike Hatfield, vocals and keyboards, Scottie Kemp, lead guitar, and vocals, Dan O’Neil, on drums, and Rick Steiling on Bass. A special treat for all

 

Fred and the Rangers- Shows – Saturdays, August 8th and 29th -8:30 to 12:30 PM

(Classic and Traditional Country western, Rockabilly, and some Top Forty)

Ooh, Baby, is this band hot! Fred and his band have been long time friends and musicians at Stovalls for 25 years!   Fred and the Rangers have played Nashville and have many cds available with their fabulous country style. Fred Ermmentrout, leads the fast pace on vocals and lead guitar, with Wally McCanless, on Bass, Ron Mecey, on pedal steel, and Clay on drums.  Whether you are from Texas, Oklahoma, Tennessee, or Missouri – a delightful evening of plenty.

 

The Roadhouse Kings, with Thayne Bradford - Friday, August 14th - 8:30 PM to 12:30 AM (Traditional and Classic Country, Variety, some Top Forty)

Some Mighty fine entertainment that’s sure to get your honey and boots a moving. Thayne Bradford, on fiddle , squeezebox, and vocals, John Higgins, on steel guitar and vocals, Randy Shore on Bass and vocals, Don Drewit on drums. Thayne is mighty fine musician who goes way back with the Grove. Outrageously great entertainment!

 

Diesel Island– Show– Friday – July 24th -  8:30 PM to 12:30AM

 (Classic Traditional country, Rockabilly, 70’s outlaw country, and Variety)

Voted best traditional country band by Riverfront Times this year. Groove to your favorite country classics, with 70’s outlaw, and even some rockabilly, with Brian Henneman, on lead guitar, Kip Loui, on rhythm guitar, Richard Tralles on Standup Bass, Carl Pandolfi on piano, and Spencer Marquart on percussion. It’s a hoot!

 

Colonel Ford and the Rough Riders – Show – Friday, August 21st - 8:30-12:30 AM

(Hillbilly, Honky Tonk, and Traditional Country)

Honky Tonk music at its finest .Gary Hunt leads the band in that county western high lonesome sound. Gary Hunt, guitar, fiddle, and vocals, Dade Farrar, Standup bass, and vocals, Jay Farrar, pedal steel ,  Johnny Horton, guitar, and Dan Kathriner, drums and vocals.  Mighty fine music and a great big howdy of country. Country music just doesn’t get any better than this. 

 

Jake McVey-  Friday, August 28th-  8:30 PM to 12:30 AM

(New Country, Classic Country and Originals)

Number one country Music television video artist , national touring artist, Billboards top ten acts of the year, and gifted singer songwriter, Jake  McVey delivers high energy, fresh country sound,with slick guitar and   beautifully smooth soulful vocals –

 

Open Mike Wednesdays- Wednesdays, August 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th - 7:00 to ? PM

( Open Mike –Various country genres, Traditional country, Hillbilly, Top Forty, Southern Rock, Americana)

It’s Back- ya’ll come! Razzle, Dazzle with your talent at the time honored tradition of open mike at Stovalls.  Greg Hart ropes in talented players from around the area, and keeps ‘em in line. Various musicians gather to share their musical guitar, bass, fiddle, accordion and vocals with much impromptu harmonies, voicings, and great fun.  Play, sing, or just enjoy watching the shows. All welcome.  Any style related to country.  Must be twenty one. 

 

DANCE LESSONS:

 

Dance Lessons - Thursdays August 6th, 13th, 20th, and 27th- Starting at 7:00 P.M. Very robust and bustling evening at the Grove. Crazy good fun that gets everyone moving with a new level of fun, stylish moves, and great dances. Learn the latest country western dances, meet nice people, and get fit. From classic country western line dances -the boot scoot boogie, Diamond reggae, Black Velvet, Trouble, Tush Push, Electric Slide, Slap Leather, Cruisin, to country western couples dances- Stationery Cha Cha, San Antonio Stroll, Ridin’ Double, L.A Two Step, Cotton Mouth,  you can learn them all.  Beginner to Advanced with or without partners. Time to get  slapping, and scootin. $3.00 per person.
