Happy Birthday America- God bless our beautiful country! Happy Independence Day- we’re the land of the free because of the brave. Gary Hunt’s band Colonel Ford and the Roughriders kick off the holiday weekend at the Grove. We’ll be closed Saturday to go fishing, pick guitar, swim and eat ice cream.
Hope everyone is enjoying our Missouri lakes, streams, and rivers with floats, boating, picnics, fishing, and backyard barbecues. Good to know that some things never change. Stovall’s is a great place to get an old fashioned dose of summer: live country and western music, dancing, conversation, libation, barbecue and a campfire under the stars – everything great in America.
Our Sunday Music Series on July 12th features the acoustic duo Jim and Dawn of Claysville Road Band with mouth watering juicy ribs grilled by competitive barbecuers- CJ and Sammy. Can’t get any better than smoked ribs and country music, so be sure to mark your calendars now- we hope you’ll be fat, sassy and happy. Please note later starting time of 5:00 to 9:00, doors will open at 4:00.
The best parties are at Stovalls, great music, convivial atmosphere and nice ice cold beer. Whether 10 or 100, let us do the worry ( and the cleanup) for your social planning- birthdays, family reunions, black parties, sports leagues, or even a quick and easy gathering of your best buddies. Grab some snacks, and gather round.
Private parties can be arranged on days and evenings: Sunday, thru Wednesday, and Saturday afternoons. Party Packages are available. Tell us your budget and we can plan the rest.

Missouri Valley Boys have made Stovall’s Grove the “Home of country music since 1935” featuring Traditional Country Western and Hillbilly music. Musical talents of the Missouri Valley Boys showcase Allen Cully, on vocals and bass, Terry Miller on vocals and guitar, Donny Sloan on drums, Fred Williams, lead guitar and vocals, Mark Vaccaro on fiddle and Dave Alley on pedal steel guitar . Step back into genuine country music history with classic songs made famous by Ray Price, George Jones, Ernest Tubbs, Lefty Frizell, Merle Haggard, and Hank Williams. Ya’ll come.

Honky Tonk music at its finest .Gary Hunt leads the band in that county western high lonesome sound. Gary Hunt, guitar, fiddle, and vocals, Dade Farrar, Standup bass, and vocals, Jay Farrar, pedal steel , Johnny Horton, guitar, and Dan Kathriner, drums and vocals. Mighty fine music and a great big howdy of country. Country music just doesn’t get any better than this.

Ooh, Baby, is this band hot! Fred and his band have been long time friends and musicians at Stovalls for 25 years! Fred and the Rangers have played Nashville and have many cds available with their fabulous country style. Fred Ermmentrout, leads the fast pace on vocals and lead guitar, with Wally McCanless, on Bass, Ron Mecey, on pedal steel, and Clay on drums. Whether you are from Texas, Oklahoma, Tennessee, or Missouri – a delightful evening of plenty.
The Roadhouse Kings, with Thayne Bradford - Friday, July 17th - 8:30 PM to 12:30 AM (Traditional and Classic Country, Variety, some Top Forty)
Some Mighty fine entertainment that’s sure to get your honey and boots a moving. Thayne Bradford, on fiddle , squeezebox, and vocals, John Higgins, on steel guitar and vocals, Randy Shore on Bass and vocals, Don Drewit on drums. Thayne is mighty fine musician who goes way back with the Grove. Outrageously great entertainment!
Diesel Island– Show– Friday – July 24th - 8:30 PM to 12:30AM
(Classic Traditional country, Rockabilly, 70’s outlaw country, and Variety)
Voted best traditional country band by Riverfront Times this year. Groove to your favorite country classics, with 70’s outlaw, and even some rockabilly, with Brian Henneman, on lead guitar, Kip Loui, on rhythm guitar, Richard Tralles on Standup Bass, Carl Pandolfi on piano, and Spencer Marquart on percussion. It’s a hoot!
Open Mike Wednesdays- Wednesdays, July 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th- 7:00 to ? PM

It’s Back- ya’ll come! Razzle, Dazzle with your talent at the time honored tradition of open mike at Stovalls. Greg Hart ropes in talented players from around the area, and keeps ‘em in line. Various musicians gather to share their musical guitar, bass, fiddle, accordion and vocals with much impromptu harmonies, voicings, and great fun. Play, sing, or just enjoy watching the shows. All welcome. Any style related to country. Must be twenty one.
Dance Lessons - Thursdays July 2nd, 11th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th - Starting at 7:00 P.M. Very robust and bustling evening at the Grove. Crazy good fun that gets everyone moving with a new level of fun, stylish moves, and great dances. Learn the latest country western dances, meet nice people, and get fit. From classic country western line dances -the boot scoot boogie, Diamond reggae, Black Velvet, Trouble, Tush Push, Electric Slide, Slap Leather, Cruisin, to country western couples dances- Stationery Cha Cha, San Antonio Stroll, Ridin’ Double, L.A Two Step, Cotton Mouth, you can learn them all. Beginner to Advanced with or without partners. Time to get slapping, and scootin. $3.00 per person.
