Missouri Valley Boys Road Trip: The Old Rock Church Picnic on Sunday, August 17th, 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM.  A Family favorite for years The Missouri Valley Boys  play the Rock Church picnic in Catawissa for St. Patrick’s Church -located just five minutes south of Pacific off Hwy 00 to NN to Rock church Road or Look for the green shamrock signs for directions-  An old fashioned picnic with fabulous fried chicken dinners!! Bring the kids for games, dancing and a darn good time.

 

Sunday Music Series- Jake McVey - Sunday, August 24th- 3:00 –7:00 pm

Number one country Music television video artist, national touring artist, Billboards top ten acts of the year, Jake McVey, joins with Stovalls’ great Barbecue for a fantastic afternoon of sheer bliss. Gifted singer songwriter, Jake McVey delivers high energy, fresh country sound, with slick guitar and    smooth soulful vocals – What not to like ?!- great barbecue and fantastic music.    Doors open at 2:30.  Sorry No reservations.

The Missouri Valley Boys - Shows – Saturday, August 2nd and 30th - 8:30 PM to 12:30 AM   ( Traditional country western, hillbilly and some Top 40)

Missouri Valley Boys have made Stovall’s Grove the “Home of country music since 1935” featuring Traditional Country Western and Hillbilly music.  Musical talents of the Missouri Valley Boys showcase  Allen Cully, on vocals and bass, Terry Miller on vocals and guitar, Donny Sloan on drums,  Fred Williams, lead guitar and vocals, Mark Vaccaro on fiddle and Pat Heller on pedal steel guitar . Step back into genuine country music history with classic songs made famous by Ray Price, George Jones, Ernest Tubbs, Lefty Frizell, Merle Haggard, and Hank Williams.   Ya’ll come.

 

Colonel Ford and the Rough Riders with Special Guest: Thayne Bradford –

Honky Tonk music at its finest .Gary Hunt leads the band in that county western high lonesome sound. Gary Hunt, guitar, fiddle, and vocals, Dade Farrar, Standup bass, and vocals, Jay Farrar, pedal steel ,  Johnny Horton, guitar, and Dan Kathriner, drums and vocals.  Mighty fine music and a great big howdy of country. Country music just doesn’t get any better than this. 

 

Diesel Island – Show – Friday, August 8th-  8:30 PM to 12:30 AM

(Classic Traditional country, Rockabilly, 70’s outlaw country, and Variety)

Voted best traditional country band by Riverfront Times this year. Groove to your favorite country classics, with 70’s outlaw, and even some rockabilly, with Brian Henneman, on lead guitar, Kip Loui, on rhythm guitar, Richard Tralles on Standup Bass, Carl Pandolfi on piano, and Spencer Marquart on percussion. It’s a hoot!

 

Fred and the Rangers- Shows - Saturday, August 9th and 23rd - 8:30 to 12:30 PM

(Classic and Traditional Country western, Rockabilly, and some Top Forty)

Ooh, Baby, is this band hot! Fred and his band have been long time friends and musicians at Stovalls for 25 years!   Fred and the Rangers have played Nashville and have many cds available with their fabulous country style. Fred Ermmentrout, leads the fast pace on vocals and lead guitar, with Wally McCanless, on Bass, Ron Mecey, on pedal steel, and Clay on drums.  Whether you are from Texas, Oklahoma, Tennessee, or Missouri – a delightful evening of plenty.

 

 Whiskey Morning Band-Show –Friday, August 15th- 8:30 to 12:30 PM

Traditional and Classic Country, Rock and Roll, Rockabilly,

Whiskey Morning is a country band with a classic country sound, killer harmonies and good, old -fashioned twang.  Suzy Bacino, on guitar and vocals, Dave Hinson, guitar and vocals, Michael Eisenbeis, guitar, and vocals, Bob Briedenbach on pedal steel, Scott Engel on Drums and Tony Estrada on Bass. These talented folks bounce the house with a fresh country sound.

 

Hillbilly Authority - Show -Friday, August 22nd - 8:30 to 12:30 PM

(Traditional Country, New, Southern Rock, Variety, some Top 40)

With a repertoire consisting of everything from traditional to new country and from southern rock to original music, Hillbilly Authority delivers a high-energy stage show that appeals to music fans of all varieties. Greg Manis, vocals and  guitar,  Mike Hatfield, vocals and keyboards, Scottie Kemp, lead guitar, and vocals, Dan O’Neil, on drums, and Rick Steiling on Bass. A special treat for all.  

 

 Thayne Bradford and The Boudreauxs- Friday, August 29th- 8:30 to 12:30 PM

(Traditional and Classic Country, Rockabilly, Cajun, Variety)

Aieee, enjoy the good life, with exceptionally fine country music. Real country music playing with its roots. Sweet melodies on classic instruments of squeeze box, fiddle and steel, countered with killer harmonies, and rifts.  Thayne Bradford rustles up some of the best talent to blow off the doors with Thayne Bradford, on fiddle, squeeze box, guitar, and vocals, Dade Farrar, on bass and vocals, Bob Breidenbach, on pedal-steel and vocals and Scotty Hughes on drums. So much talent for too much fun, don’t miss out!

 

Schmitts and Grins, Saturday, August 16th-8:30 to 12:30 PM Lots of fun with the Schmitts and Grins Band, Ken Schmitt, on guitar and vocals, Bill Highley on Mandolin, and vocals, Ron Schmidt on vocals, Terry Donnelly, on lead guitar and vocals, Joe Smith, on Doghouse Bass and Banjo, and Joseph Ecklecamp on keyboard.  Not a thing missing and 100% genuine country.

 

Open Mike Wednesdays- Wednesdays, August 6th, 13th, 20th, and 27th- 7:00 to ? PM

( Open Mike –Various country genres, Traditional country, Hillbilly, Top Forty, Southern Rock, Americana)

It’s Back- ya’ll come! Razzle, Dazzle with your talent at the time honored tradition of open mike at Stovalls.  Various musicians gather to share their musical guitar, bass, fiddle, accordion and vocals with much impromptu harmonies, voicings, and great fun.  Play, sing, or just enjoy watching the shows. All welcome.  Any style related to country.  Must be twenty one. 

 

DANCE LESSONS:

 

Dance Lessons with Stephanie- Thursdays – August 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th- Starting at 7:00 P.M.Very robust and bustling evening at the Grove. Crazy good fun. Stephanie, our instructor, gets the dancers moving with a new level of fun, stylish moves, and great dances. Learn the latest country western dances, meet nice people, and get fit. From classic country western line dances -the boot scoot boogie, Diamond reggae, Black Velvet, Trouble, Tush Push, Electric Slide, Slap Leather, Cruisin, to country western couples dances- Stationery Cha Cha, San Antonio Stroll, Ridin’ Double, L.A Two Step, Cotton Mouth,  you can learn them all.  Beginner to Advanced with or without partners. Time to get  slapping, and scootin. $3.00 per person. Advanced dancers should inquire about the competition teams.
